BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION
WHAT IS BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION
Behavioral Modification is the first form of training that is attempted by most puppy owners. Over the years here at K9 Academy, we have found that negative in-house behavior is due to the lack of adequate knowledge the owner has on the subject rather than the dogs' learning capabilities. In order for dogs to learn tasks such as staying well behaved in his new environment, the owners need to learn how to control the dog in their home.
For this reason we teach the owner of the new puppy to deal with this behavioral issue at home. We offer an hour long In Home Consultation on what to do, and how to do it.
WE COVER TOPICS LIKE:
- Housebreaking (potty training)
- Chewing
- Jumping (on people, couch or beds)
- Digging
- Bolting
- Aggression (with people or animals)
- Long Distance Recall
- Play Bitting
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- Puppies must be 12 weeks of age.
- Puppies must be in good physical health.
- The owner must be patient with their puppies to be successful in this program.
